Lendlease Presents ZUMIX's RUN 2 the BEAT 2015 In Partnership with the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center
Join us for Boston’s most scenic, musical, and fun 5K!
Starting in Piers Park our flat and fast race course takes you through three of East Boston’s incredible green spaces including the East Boston Greenway, Piers Park, and Bremen Street Park! We invite you to run in costume, dressed as your favorite musical icon - either a soloist or band!
Our flat course is perfect for veteran and new runners alike and participants of all ages and fitness levels are welcome. Together, we’ll raise over $25,000 to support ZUMIX’s work empowering youth and building community through music and the arts!
Check in begins in 9am at Piers Park and the race starts at 10am. After the race, enjoy a post-run celebration with youth performances at ZUMIX! Prizes awarded to the fastest runners and best costumes! We’ll be using chip timers, so you can be sure your time is 100% accurate.

Post-Race Celebration
Join us back at the ZUMIX Firehouse (260 Sumner St.) after the race for a blowout celebration featuring performances by ZUMIX youth, interactive activities, food, prizes, and a special awards ceremony! Schedule of featured performances coming soon.

About ZUMIX
Founded in 1991 in response to the worst year of violence in Boston’s history, ZUMIX offers award-winning programs in songwriting, performance, radio, audio technology, and theater for youth ages 7-18. With the changing needs of our community, we are now operating out of a 9,000 sq-foot renovated firehouse in East Boston. Each year we serve 500 youth in our after-school and summer programs, 550 youth through in-school partnerships, and reach more than 10,000 additional youth and adults through workshops, community events, and outdoor concerts. In 2011 our Executive Director and one of our teens traveled to the White House to accept the National Arts and Humanities Youth Programs Award from First Lady Michelle Obama.
